Fascinating Images of the Universe on the Big Screen, Accompanied by the Music of Johann Sebastian Bach

Distant galaxies, stellar nebulae, black holes – the cosmos closer than ever before! On a giant screen, razor-sharp NASA images glow in colors usually seen only in science fiction films. Accompanying them, the music of Johann Sebastian Bach is performed live on piano – sometimes powerful, sometimes delicate, always surprising. The result: a concert that feels like a journey through space and time.

Image and music merge, your gaze drifts into infinity – and suddenly Bach’s music seems so modern and timeless, as if it had been written just for this very moment. The first performances in Munich have already shown how inspiring the concept is: “A celestial Bach,” wrote the Münchner Merkur. And the portal “Kultur in München” reported: “The audience in Munich was visibly captivated – by the vastness and depth of the crystal-clear, high-resolution images, by the finely curated selection of Bach’s repertoire, by the precise execution.”

In the 2025–26 season, Bach in Space will go on tour for the first time through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The program includes highlights such as selections from The Well-Tempered Clavier, the Goldberg Variations, and the Italian Concerto – great classics newly experienced in a setting that guarantees goosebumps.

“Bach in Space” is more than classical music: it’s an experience for everyone who wants to explore music and the cosmos in a new dimension.
